Project Overview:

SAAarchitects executed a complete interior and exterior renovation at the VAMC Martinsburg Pool House. This renovation has improved the Pool House structurally and gave the previously dated pool building an updated “Bahama Islands” look.

Improvements included the construction of new exterior cladding and standing seam roof with a new roof monitor for additional ventilation and natural light. Original window openings were replaced with exterior shutters for better ventilation and privacy in the pool house. The existing deck was expanded using composite decking that is a denser, stronger material to withstand weathering. A vinyl clad pergola on the pool deck and wrought iron fence enclosure were also added to the outside area. Interior finishes are stainless steel toilet partitions, ceramic tile shower stalls, solid surface countertops, epoxy floors, and a vibrant, lively color palette. A perfect combination of elements to enhance the relaxing island atmosphere.
