Daybreak - Orrs Bridge

Project Overview:

SAAarchitects provided full architectural design services for renovations and additions to an existing building on Orrs Bridge Road, which was previously used as a satellite church. Building additions were designed to complement and enhance the existing building. A large commons area and vestibule was added at the rear of the sanctuary to allow gathering and mingling between services and feature two fireplaces, display screens and a children’s check in area. A kid’s wing was added on the east side of the building that includes flexibility to use the varsity classrooms as a multipurpose room for activities by providing a moveable wall partition between the spaces.

The congregation’s preferred design aesthetic was industrial chic and modern farmhouse, which guided the design of the project, both inside and out, through exposing the structure, staining and sealing the concrete, wood and tile accent panels, corrugated metal wainscoting and painting the existing brick which faces Orrs Bridge Road. Interior renovations included a full finish upgrade in the sanctuary, new restrooms, new infant and toddler classrooms, a new hospitality area with a coffee bar, and new multipurpose room with kitchenette.
