Project Overview:

SAA led a consulting team to provide complete architectural and engineering services (mechanical, electrical, fire protection, infection control, civil, structural, geotechnical, traffic) for design, bidding and construction administration of a new 23,000 SF family practice outpatient health facility for WellSpan Health. The Wheatlyn Medical Center provides 26 exam rooms for 12 family practice physician providers and staff. The design is an on stage / off stage model where doctors and staff work together and enter exam rooms separate from patient access.

The design is based around the Lean Workflow and Facility Design where efficiency and sustainable principles guide the design. In addition to exam rooms, the new facility features 2 procedure rooms; ambulance transport entrance; staff lounge; administrative area; waiting rooms; a full service, walk- in medical testing laboratory; a 4,000 SF Rehabilitation Center; and a Patient Training and Education Center.
