On April 7th, The Keystone Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors celebrated the completion of a $5.2 million expansion and renovation of their headquarters and training center with a “ribbon cutting” ceremony.

This, however, was no traditional ribbon-cutting! Quite appropriately, the chapter chose to saw through 7 pieces of lumber instead.

SAAarchitects was thrilled to be there to celebrate, and even happier to be a part of this project, which increased square footage to allow for almost double enrollment numbers for students over the next few years.

The larger facility, now called the ‘Keystone Center for Construction Careers,’ will also allow for additional classes in new trades. Its main focus will be providing education within the construction industry that will give people the skills necessary to obtain well-paying, lifelong careers that they will enjoy, rather than just jobs.

ABC Keystone represents over 600 construction-related firms locally and is also part of a national association with 72 chapters representing more than 19,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms. The education that they will now be able to provide to students throughout south-central PA will be sure to leave a powerful impact on the community.
