The 98th Pennsylvania Farm Show resulted in a great crowd this year despite the harsh winter weather. After water penetration issues were discovered on the Marclay Street side of the Farm Show complex, SAAarchitects has assessed the troubled areas and is currently in the design phase to start remediating the issue. Causes of the leak include deterioration of mortar joints on exterior veneer and cap and roof counter flashing. SAAarchitects will be able to resolve the issues by restoring and reinstalling limestone capstones, removing portions of the existing masonry, salvaging and repairing cast frieze elements for reinstallation, and reinstalling veneer with proper control joints and moisture protection– all while maintaining the historical significance of the structure. Check back for updates as the project progresses!
