SAAarchitects provided complete architectural programming, design and construction administration services for low-income single-family, semi-detached dwelling units. Each 1,850 square foot unit featured three bedrooms, one and a half baths and one car garages. Energy efficient hot water heaters, furnaces, windows and building materials were used. The design incorporated HUD low-income housing standards, including ADA accessibility, and were designed to blend with existing Historic District and historic character of the Borough. The new housing was constructed in an area formerly occupied by dilapidated historic structures which were beyond repair. The project met with the approval of the PA Historic and Museum Commission.
